FAQs

What is SightTune?

SightTune is an iPad app that turns digital sheet music pages using on-device computer vision and eye-gaze tracking. It requires no Bluetooth pedal or additional hardware.

How does SightTune turn pages?

You place your iPad on a music stand and calibrate once. SightTune then tracks your natural eye gaze and subtle head movement. Looking toward the edge of the screen triggers a page turn. All processing happens on the device.

Does SightTune work without internet?

Yes. Once the app and your scores are loaded, it works fully offline. This is important for practice rooms and performance venues with unreliable Wi-Fi.

Is it reliable for piano recitals and performances? SightTune includes a Performance Mode designed for concerts and recitals. It prioritizes stability and uses adjustable sensitivity so you can tune the system to your playing style.

How is this different from a Bluetooth page-turner pedal?

Bluetooth pedals require extra hardware, use your foot, and can conflict with the sustain pedal. SightTune needs only your iPad and uses eye gaze instead of foot movement, eliminating hardware and foot conflicts.

Does it work with any sheet music?

SightTune works with digital scores you import into the app. It supports common formats used by classical musicians and includes annotation and practice tools.

Is my data private? Yes. All computer vision and gaze processing happens on-device. Nothing is sent to the cloud during use.

What devices does it support?

SightTune is built for iPad with the ability to upload and manage scores via iPhone.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Full access requires a SightTune Pro subscription, which includes a free trial period.

Will it conflict with the sustain pedal?

No. Because page turns are triggered by eye gaze rather than a foot switch, there is no conflict with the sustain pedal.

Is it reliable for piano recitals? SightTune includes a Performance Mode designed for concerts and recitals. It prioritizes stability and allows adjustable sensitivity so you can tune the system to your playing style.

How is this different from forScore face gestures?

forScore offers facial gestures (mouth, head, or wink) as a Pro feature. SightTune is built specifically around gaze-based page turning with on-device computer vision, adjustable sensitivity, for elite performers.
