How SightTune Works — Gaze-Based Page Turning

SightTune turns digital sheet music pages using on-device computer vision. It tracks your natural eye gaze and subtle head movement on your iPad, so you can advance pages without touching the screen, using a foot pedal, or relying on a human page-turner.

Step-by-step process

  1. Place your iPad Position your iPad on a music stand in portrait or landscape orientation. SightTune is optimized for iPad Pro 11" and 13"

  2. Calibrate in seconds Follow the short on-screen calibration. The app learns your unique gaze and head movement patterns so detection stays accurate during real playing.

  3. Play As you perform or practice, SightTune continuously monitors your eye gaze and head position. When you look toward the edge of the screen (the natural signal that you need the next page), the app turns the page.

  4. Stay in control Sensitivity is adjustable so you can fine-tune how the system responds to your playing style. Performance Mode prioritizes reliability for concerts and recitals.

What happens under the hood SightTune uses multi-modal computer vision running entirely on your iPad. All processing stays on-device — nothing is sent to the cloud. This delivers three practical benefits:

  • Works fully offline

  • Protects your privacy

  • Avoids latency or connectivity issues during performance

Key technical advantages

  • No Bluetooth hardware or foot switches required

  • No conflict with the sustain pedal

  • Designed to remain stable even during expressive playing and register changes

  • Supports score annotations and practice analytics alongside page turning

Who this is designed for Classical pianists and serious musicians who want reliable, hands-free (and foot-free) page turning without introducing extra stage equipment.
