At SightTune, we believe your music should come first — and your privacy should never be compromised. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle any information when you use our app. The short version: we collect, store, and transmit absolutely nothing. Everything happens locally on your device.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

SightTune is designed from the ground up to keep all data 100% local on your iPad or iPhone. We do not:

Collect any personal information (name, email, location, device ID, or any identifier)
Create or require user accounts
Store any camera footage, images, or video
Use cloud services, analytics tools, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking
Transmit any data to our servers or anyone else

The only thing that happens is this: When you enable the camera for page-turning, individual video frames are processed instantaneously and entirely on-device using our on-device AI model. The moment a gesture is detected (or not detected), those frames are immediately discarded. No frames, no features, no data are ever saved — not even temporarily on your device.

2. Camera Usage (The Only Permission We Request)

We request access to the camera solely to enable our core feature: hands-free page turning via subtle facial gestures (smile, eyebrow lift, nod, etc.).

Processing is performed locally using Apple’s Core ML and Vision frameworks.
No images or video are written to storage.
No data leaves your device.
You can disable the camera at any time in your device Settings → SightTune, and the app will gracefully fall back to manual tapping.

This limited, real-time use is the only reason the camera permission appears. It is not used for any other purpose.

3. How We Use Information

Since we collect no personal data, there is nothing to “use” beyond the immediate, on-device gesture detection required for the app to function. The AI never learns from you in a way that stores information — it simply reacts in the moment.

4. Data Storage and Security

All processing occurs locally on your device. There are no servers involved, so there is nothing for us to secure on our end. Your iPad’s built-in security (Face ID, encryption, sandboxing) protects the temporary camera feed exactly as it protects every other app on your device.

5. Children’s Privacy

SightTune is intended for musicians of all ages, including students. Because we collect zero personal data, we comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws by design. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions).

6. Your Rights

Because we hold no data about you:

You do not need to request access or deletion — there is nothing to access or delete.
You can stop camera access anytime via device Settings.
You can delete the app entirely to remove any local settings (gesture preferences are stored only in Apple’s secure UserDefaults on your device).

7. Third-Party Services

We do not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, or libraries that collect data. The app is completely self-contained.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy if we ever add new features (for example, optional iCloud backup of gesture preferences). If we do, we will post the new version here with a new effective date and notify you inside the app. Because we currently collect nothing, any future change would be clearly announced.

User-Generated Content and Copyright You may only upload, import, or create music scores for which you own all necessary rights or which are in the public domain. You are solely responsible for any copyright infringement. By uploading a score you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and play it within the app on your device. We respect copyright and will respond to valid DMCA or equivalent notices.
